DST Danger

from Billified: The Bill Moran Podcast · host Bill Moran

DST Danger - Bill and Dan discuss Day Light Saving Time and the risk it poses to your health. Every year on the Monday after the springtime switch. Hospitals report a 24 percent spike in heart-attack visits around the U.S. Doctors see an opposite trend each fall: The day after we turn back the clocks, heart attack visits drop 21 percent as many people enjoy a little extra pillow time. Bill is amazed that an hour, as he says, it is only an hour, makes such a difference. Bill worked morning radio for over 20 years getting up at 3 AM and Dan for a decade too, they wonder what effects that may have had on them. Bill tells about being out with Kevin Friday night and running into a friend who had some blunt words for Bill. Dan may have heard the same blunt words and has talked to his doctor about it! Bill saw a new movie this weekend and he LOVED it, he wants Dan to watch, Kevin already has and Bill thinks the movie may become a comedy favorite. Bill and Dan discuss the very sad story about the death of Genesee County Sheriff Sergeant Thomas Sanfratello, who was working a special assignment detail at Batavia Downs when he died around 12:45 AM Sunday after an altercation with two people at the casino. Bill reads a listener’s text asking about Dan’s C-Pap machine and telling about her husband’s new sleep habit, involving tape over his mouth! Bill says that C-Pap and things like that are helping us live longer. The Patriots have sent Mac Jones packing, he will be the back-up quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Have you heard the term Tipflation? Bill and Dan discuss tipping and where it is acceptable and where it is not. Bill calls his son Jackson who works as a waiter in Alabama and had people dine and dash on him recently, Jackson explains what happened, how the restaurant handled it and how to earn a solid tip. Bill asks if flight attendants should be tipped? They can accept tips, but should you? Dan says his wife can’t sleep unless the TV is on and that makes it hard for him to sleep. Bill asks if Dan explains why having the TV on while sleeping is problematic would his wife hear it? Because she tells him many things he does wrong, his answer should not surprise. Bill asks if being accused or thought of as a thief, is one of the hardest labels to shed? He gives examples of people who were thought to have stolen something, but it turned out they did not! Dan gives his Podcastitutional Amendments and Bill asks are the Bills wasting Josh Allen? Dan gives his thoughts and you may agree.
