E 170: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Transformation: George Haymaker's Journey

from Adult Child of Dysfunction

In this episode, we’re joined by George Haymaker — a certified neuroconstructionist coach, neuroeducator, and former entrepreneur with a powerful story of transformation. After building and leading several successful companies over three decades, George found himself battling a life-threatening addiction to alcohol and opioids. At his lowest point in 2013, he was consuming up to 50 Vicodin and two bottles of vodka per day. That crisis became the turning point that led him into rehab, recovery, and ultimately, a life devoted to helping others.George shares how growing up in an unsettling environment led to anxiety, low self-esteem, and the need to self-medicate—patterns that followed him into adulthood. But his path of self-discovery didn’t stop at recovery; it took a deep dive into the science of change. Fascinated by neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to rewire itself—George became passionate about understanding how mental and behavioral patterns form and, more importantly, how they can be transformed.Today, he helps individuals become “unstuck” from old habits and limiting beliefs by teaching them how to direct the natural change that’s already happening in their brains. His approach combines neuroscience with lived experience, empowering people to rewrite their inner narrative and achieve greater success in every area of their lives. This conversation is all about what’s truly possible when we stop being passengers to our past and start taking the wheel of our own transformation.Connect with George:📧 [email protected]🔗 LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/georgehaymaker
