Welcome to the Get Healthy Tampa Bay Podcast with Dr. Kerry Reller! This week I am joined by Dr. Sheila Perez-Colon. Dr. Sheila Pérez-Colón was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She is a great mother to her 10 years old daughter Andrea, and an amazing wife to her high school sweetheart Lionel. She obtained her bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. Her medical education started at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico and finished with the fifth pathway program at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. She completed a 3-years pediatric residency program in the Children’s Hospital at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.   She then completed an additional sub-specialty training with a 3-years pediatric endocrinology fellowship at a combined program between Maimonides Medical Center and SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.  In 2019, she moved to Miami, Florida and worked as a Pediatric Endocrinologist with a busy private group affiliated with Baptist Health South Florida. After 3 years in Miami, she decided to return back to Puerto Rico to serve her people and become part of the solution. After years of frustration with the traditional health care system and with the realization that nothing is better than being home and helping your people, Elite Endocrine MD was born. Elite Endocrine MD, aims to give patients more time, more accessibility, more convenience couple with high quality care.  Communication, comprehension and respect are core values in Dr. Sheila Pérez-Colón’s family.  When you become a member of Elite Endocrine MD, you become part of the family.
