E6. Susi Gott Séguret Reminds Us to Make Friends with Fear and Make Doubt Our Darling

from Enough Already! Yes, You Are... · host Elizabeth Trinkaus, Speaker, Author, Master Coach, Podcast Host

Susi Gott Séguret joins me from Madison County, NC. Her amazing bio is below... To counteract doubts, Susi reminds us to make friends with fear, and doubt our darling. She does this by pausing, deep breaths, and dancing barefoot in the grass. She says, "I remember why I'm here every day. I love what is real." Letting go of imperfections has us notice the mountains, the stars, the violets... As a gifted chef, she also uses knives as an analogy for life. We are "slicing through life. If our knife is dull, it creates resistance, and if it's sharp, it's easier." Also, "what might be dulling your knife?" Susi believes life can be easy and enjoyable. Our momentary choices make it easy or hard. We get to release perfection, and know with certainty every day that we are indeed enough! Susi's Bio: Susi Gott Séguret, fiddler, photographer, author, chef, is a long-time veteran of Appalachian music and history. Born and raised in Madison County, NC, she honed her culinary skills in France, where she resided for over 20 years, earning a diploma in Gastronomy and Taste from the Cordon Bleu and the Université de Reims. Currently based once again in her native county, Susi directs the Seasonal School of Culinary Arts, with sessions in Asheville, Ithaca, Sonoma, and Paris, and orchestrates the Asheville Truffle Experience, the Asheville Wine Experience, and the Appalachian Culinary Experience (a series of foraging-cooking-dining events). She is author of Appalachian Appetite: Recipes from the Heart of America and Child of the Woods: an Appalachian Odyssey, and can be reached at www.susigott.com, and www.schoolofculinaryarts.org.
