Before we hiked the PCT in 2022, we were inspired to hike it, not only from online sources, but more importantly by hikers who took the time to tell their long-form stories, in books. Keith “Fozzie” Foskett wrote one of two books which gave Basecamp and me the final push we needed to commit to the PCT. Years later, here we are sitting down to chat with the author of The Last Englishman. Fozzie shares some of his highs and lows from an impressive thru-hiking career, covers topics from his favorite U.S. breakfast, a health scare on the CDT, struggling with depression, and even his ghostly experience on the PCT. This is less an interview and more catching up between old friends at a cozy pub.
