E64: Transparency, Effort, and Negotiation

On Today's Episode:The beauty of long-term relationships is having a life buddy whose mind and opinions you value, offering a completely different perspective on the world—so you get to experience life through two viewpoints.The goal is to end up in a relationship with someone who fascinates you and who you continue to be curious about.Picking a partner for life means you'll always have a second perspective on the world, a second trusted opinion on a problem or scenario, and together you can link arms and come up with a plan or solution that's better than what you would come up with individually.In a relationship, you don’t want to compromise; you want to negotiate.Relationships don’t typically start because of fascination with the other person; they start because of attachment.Sex: sometimes you’re totally into it, sometimes you take one for the team, and sometimes you have to TRY to get into it. And try you should!You will not have a sustainable relationship if you’re only thinking about yourself.You can’t have love without respect, and you can’t have respect without trust.The expectations I have for my relationship is that the transparency I have with my girlfriends is the bare minimum of the transparency that should be allowed in your relationship.It is part of growing up to learn to sit with uncomfortable feelings and to do things for the sake of another’s happiness.Small issues should be discussed but not made into huge issues.And more!Did you enjoy this episode?
