Effective business leadership
from spiritual principles made practical's podcast · host Scott Friedman
Being abundantly clear facilitates successful business. Too often people hold back explaining what needs to happen for employees and clients to be successful. That isn't doing anyone any favors. If there is a line that can't be recovered from once crossed, that needs to be made clear at the beginning. In my first full time job, my boss sat me down and said I was required to get all my paperwork in on time and have no surprises. If I did that, we'd get along great. If not, there would be major problems. I worked for him for almost 7 years and he was true to his word. I got all my paperwork in on time and kept him appraised of what was happening so there would be no surprises. We got along great the whole time. I followed this practice when I had employees and it worked well there too. This is a reflection of the fact that the solution to every problem is to be more honest with ourself. When we're honest with ourself, it supports being honest with others. Being honest with myself includes accepting I have the power to make my life work. There are lots of challenges in my life right now, most notably family health problems. I believe the best thing I can do for others is to work on myself. Once again, I'm reminded that I need to take care of myself to be in a position to take care of others. I offer life changing coaching.
