Eko : Resonance 07

from Eko : Resonance Series · host EKO

This is the seventh transmission in a monthly series of mixes exploring the outer edges of electronic sound: experimental electronics, IDM, glitch, extreme computer music, illbient, dub, and algorithmic rhythms. These sessions function as both archive and exploration. This month’s mix was approached like a dream sequence: a drifting procession of memories, thoughts, atmospheres and environments that emerge, disintegrate and recombine in a state of perpetual transition. Rather than moving from one fixed destination to another, the mix inhabits those fleeting intervals where consciousness slips between images, where fragments of experience surface momentarily before receding again into the background. There is a peculiar way in which places, people and emotions continue to exist within us long after they have passed. They linger as traces, impressions and sensations, often dormant until something unexpectedly calls them back into presence. A sound, a texture, a voice, a distant melody can suddenly open a passage to another time. For a brief moment, the boundaries between past and present become porous. We find ourselves inhabiting multiple timeframes at once, suspended between where we are and where we have been.Rather than presenting a linear narrative, the tracks are arranged as a series of interconnected microcosms: transient worlds that appear and disappear as if caught in peripheral vision. Each piece leaves behind a residue that colours what follows, creating chains of association that feel less like conscious decisions and more like the unpredictable logic of memory itself. The transitions are intended to mirror the way recollection functions — discontinuous, fragmented, yet somehow emotionally coherent.Music has always possessed this quality for me. It acts as both archive and portal, carrying emotional information that often escapes language. Certain sounds can instantly return me to forgotten rooms, long journeys, encounters with people no longer present, or specific states of feeling that seemed lost to time. The experience is rarely one of clear recollection; instead it resembles a sensory atmosphere, a feeling-tone that surrounds the memory and allows it to briefly materialise again. In that sense, listening becomes a form of wandering through invisible architectures of memory. The mix attempts to follow these pathways, allowing moods and textures to guide its progression rather than fixed structures or expectations. Moments of clarity give way to ambiguity, environments blur into one another, and familiar forms dissolve into something less certain. What emerges is a space of resonance: a place where echoes of past experiences intermingle with the present moment, where memory and imagination become difficult to separate, and where each sound carries the possibility of awakening something that had been quietly waiting beneath the surface of consciousness.Vladislav Delay - WallfacerContainer & Will Guthrie - FernGlen Velez - BodhranBoxcutter - TauhidGhostphace - Oscillating headMark - ‘’Our home and heart is in Berlin, as we believe in the potentials of the local creative scene.’‘Atom ™ - 0.9 (Almost a Unit) (Esplendor Geometrico Rmx)Katatonic Silentio - Deplacement De La SurfaceWayla - ShedZiur - Fly Like A MothDragon - LuxxAndria - ExbrussAutechre - DekDre Scap BJesse Osbourne Lanthier - Supercritical Liquid InformationKero X Gotshell - PXL SRTKindohm - Friend SuggestionAyrtbh - TerminalLuca Bevacqua - Recurs AlbedoKwasior - 198875645Lime68k - GibberishLorem - Goat Stare & Plastic AMarshall Applewhite - 2nd Floor Bed In Ross Old HouseThe Both And - Field 4Tranzzet - Recomplex v2XDCVR - DefgenCrops - Crop 5Moxus - 2020-05-04Muhh - 5 LivePent - 2_Naoki Nomoto - StructPotato Exe - Vctr_00Ruaridh Law - Topology CodaSignal Black - Almost NeverSun Thief - Achromatic ArborTonal Tuck - TodsTerminal 11 - TeaMarco Simioni - FladlidKosu Nes - Icosel Get full access to EKO's Substack at ekooooo.substack.com/subscribe
