El queso Pule de leche de una raza especial de burra de los Balcanes, con un precio que ronda los 1.300 euros/kilo, probablemente sea el queso comercial más caro del Mundo. Este queso , "magareći sir" en serbio, se elabora a partir de la leche una raza de burra en peligro de extinción. Estos animales habitan en una pequeña reserva natural llamada Zasavica, cerca de Belgrado, esta granja dispone de 190 burras de las cuáles tan solo unas 20 están diariamente disponibles para dar leche. Estos rucios son más pequeños que el resto de su especie y tienen una marca en el lomo en forma de cruz. Cada burra se ordeña manualmente tres veces al día, produce unos 300 mililitros de leche y se necesitan 23 litros para elaborar 1 kilo de queso. Más información en https://cienciaes.com
