Electric Scooter Rider Killed In Los Angeles Hit And Run As Driver Flees Scene

Los Angeles, California – A 33-year-old man riding an electric scooter was struck by a vehicle near Hoover Street and 75th Street at around 5:30 p.m. on March 25, 2026. The driver failed to stop, identify themselves or provide aid as required by law before fleeing the scene. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic Division detectives are investigating the collision. A reward of up to $50,000 is available through the city’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program for information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
