Eli Neztsosie: "'In the beginning, the mountains thought they were people', how does the story go on from there?”

In this clip Eli Neztsosie introduces himself in Navajo, his mother  tongue, mentioning his ancestral lineage in a traditional way. He then  completes an old Native American story, originally from the Pacific  Northwest, the beginning of which is given to him here, in his own way,  referring to the land of his Diné ancestors. “As a rancher growing  up in the rugged northeast corner of the Navajo Nation with no  electricity or running water, Eli Neztsosie learned through years of  work what it meant to rely on discipline and endurance.
