Summary
It is my pleasure to have my doctor, friend, and colleague, Elizabeth Boham, MD, MS, RD, on the podcast today. Never in my life have I met a doctor who knows so much about wellness: her combination of trainings in medicine, nutrition, exercise, plus her own belief and experience in mindfulness make her a doctor unlike any I have known. On top of this, she works at The UltraWellness Center (founded by Dr. Mark Hyman), where she is booked months in advance with patients who benefit from her wisdom, compassion, and experience. Treating each person as an individual, Elizabeth asks patients about their lifestyle, investigates what's going on with the systems of their body, and orders a variety of unique tests to get to the root causes of their symptoms. Then, treatments include food as medicine, lifestyle recommendations, supplements, and medications as needed. In this special episode with Elizabeth, we talk about her journey to becoming a Functional Medicine doctor and tips on how we can continue to stay well as we head into the winter months (in this part of the world).
