Embodied Black Girl with Therese Cator

from Center Her Power · host Sanaa Green

Thérèse Cator is a trauma-informed embodiment practitioner who specializes in helping people develop a connection to their bodies that promotes wellness and healing. Cator's work provides an intersectional and decolonial lens that is rare in an “overwhelming white, ableist and self-centered” somatics field. Her work lies at the intersection of leadership, spirituality, healing, somatics, mindfulness, decolonization and social change. I’m devoted to guiding visionary people of all backgrounds to remember their wholeness, reclaim their radiance and untether from white supremacist colonial patriachial conditioning in life and leadership in the name of healing and liberation for us all. She has been a coach for 13 years, have been practicing energy work since my teens and performing and writing since childhood. Some of the additional training and mentorship include somatic attunement, attachment dynamics, trauma sensitivity and Vipassana meditation. Thérèse has also been featured in publications like Washington Post, Jezebel, Forbes, and Motherly, where she spoke about her experience with breastfeeding and motherhood.
