We discuss the fact that there are many people who are emotionally wounded in our society. We examine some of the symptoms of those wounds. And, we recommend some of the things that emotionally wounded people need to do in order for them to move towards healing.

Proof of the pervasiveness of emotional wounds in the society:

  • Priests abusing children
  • War veterans who suffer from emotional disabilities
  • High numbers of rapes in most societies - some more than others

Some of the symptoms shown by the emotionally wounded among us:

  • Addiction to approval and people pleasing
  • Alcohol and drug abuse
  • Gambling
  • Lust for power and control of others
  • High levels of bullying among kids but even among adults
  • Eating disorders
  • High levels of depression
  • High levels of stress
  • Increasing numbers of mass shootings
  • Political violence

A few steps that the emotionally wounded can take:

  • Admit that they need help
  • Seek professional help from credible highly trained and experienced professionals
  • Read self-help books
