Heart Attack Survivor Shares Empowering Habits To Overcome Chronic Illnesses - Sarah Wilson and Lily Patrascu Sarah Wilson, founder of Everything’s Messy Wellness and survivor of a heart attack six days before turning 43, teaches women how to overcome chronic illness by embracing messy progress and building tiny, consistent habits. She emphasizes sitting with uncomfortable emotions, taking accountability, and creating boundaries to prioritize self-care without sacrificing family responsibilities. Her method focuses on stacking small, empowering habits that gradually lead to massive results in health and life. Sarah’s personal transformation allowed her to wean off medication, regain her energy, and empower others to do the same. About The Guest I'm Sarah Wilson—heart attack survivor, Type 1 diabetic, and the voice behind Everything’s Messy Podcast. My journey into wellness didn’t begin with a textbook or a certification. It started in the ER, hooked up to machines, staring down a future I wasn’t sure I had. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 15, I spent years chasing stability in a body that didn’t play by the rules. But it wasn’t until I suffered a heart attack before the age of 43 that I had the wake-up call that changed everything. The doctors said it was bad luck and handed me prescriptions. I said, Absolutely not—and went down the rabbit hole of root causes, unspoken truths, and everything the mainstream wasn’t saying. The more I learned, the louder the fire inside me grew. Why wasn’t this information being shouted from the rooftops?! So I started shouting—into a microphone, at my kitchen table. And that’s how Everything’s Messy Podcast was born. From there, Everything’s Messy Wellness took shape—my way of turning this mission into something tangible, where real conversations could lead to real change. It wasn’t perfect. It was raw, unfiltered, and very messy—but so was I. And that’s where I found power. What began as a mission to share life-saving knowledge turned into a passion for helping others reclaim their lives, their health, and their spark. I’m living proof that you can survive the worst and come back stronger, even when the odds are stacked against you. My life isn’t tidy or Instagram-perfect—but it’s real, it’s resilient, and it’s driven by the belief that your mess can become your message. And trust me, the mess is where the magic begins.
