Just 25 kilometers from the russian border, in Kharkiv – a city regularly shelled by rockets and drones – a new theatre has been born in the midst of war. “In peaceful, comfortable times, art rarely develops – it often starts to ‘grow moss’. In hard times, on the contrary, you must put in a lot of effort to create anything, and that’s exactly when real art can emerge,” says this week’s guest of “Drošinātājs”, Анастасія Несміян, director of Kharkiv’s independent theatre «Очерет», in a conversation with Dīvs Reiznieks.
