Ending Wet Slaughter Markets in the United States...Yes, we have them too!

With the coronavirus believed to have started in a wet market in China, there is an outcry against these bloody and unsanitary retail slaughter markets. But, did you know there are thousands in the Unite States? Yes, in New York City alone, there are more than 80 such markets where a wide variety of animals are slaughtered as the buyer waits to pick up the carcass. Now, Social Compassion in Legislation is proposing legislation to end these establishments in the U.S. Legislation discussed in this broadcast include bills to ban wet markets and possession of endangered species from Africa.
