I like how this book uses fiction to drive a point home, yet it includes enough non-fiction to make it easy to talk about exactly why Henry is so impatient. I used this book with students ranging in grades from K-2 to introduce the concept of patience. I worried it might be a little above the K's heads, but it wasn't at all, especially with a little acting out how the fish would be afraid of Henry if he were splashing around as the book describes. Students were easily able to make connections to times they have to be patient, and Henry's difficulties in being still really resonated with some students who identified with an excited, "That's like me!" Five Stars Good book "Egg"scellent book to learn about Great Blue Herons!! This is a child's book but has information about Great Blue Herons for any age!
