Genesis, Chapter 4. Marriage is an ever-present aspect of our society. Pew Research Center did a study on 18–34-year-olds who all said they want to get married. Nonetheless statistics show there is a delaying in marriage with many prioritizing higher education, careers, and financial stability in our modern world. The marriage rate is roughly 41-50% for your first marriage, 60% for your second, and 73% for your third, still two thirds of divorced individuals marry again. Jesus said to the pharisees, “it was not this way in the beginning” does this mean marriage was different in the garden? After the fall? After the law? How do you define marriage, covenant, divorce? A biblical perspective, providing insight to our world today. The first legal marriage, the first mentioned of a polyamorous relationship, the first murder recorded in history.
