Ep. 1: Holocaust Escape and Ep. 2: Breast Cancer

from The Kathryn Zox Show · host Kathryn Zox

Kathryn interviews strategic advisor Jack J. Hersch, author of the book "Death March Escape: The Remarkable Story of a Man Who Twice Escaped the Nazi Holocaust". Hersch grew up hearing the stories of how his father, Dave Hersch, twice escaped the brutal death marches forced on concentration camp prisoners by the Nazis at the end of World War II. More than a memoir, biography, or history, his new book is a page-turning account of what it takes to survive with your soul intact and to never surrender. Kathryn also interviews breast cancer survivor Laura Holmes Haddad, author of the book "This is Cancer: Everything You Need to Know, From the Waiting Room to the Bedroom." At 37 years old, she was diagnosed with Stage IV inflammatory breast cancer. Through her treatment journey she realized that there was so much more to a cancer diagnosis than the medical stuff. Her book is a thoughtful and entertaining result for those who prefer their pathos with humor, reality and a touch of flair.
