EP 116 The Connection between Discipline and Achieving Your Dreams with Shawn and Julianne Lechuga

from Stroke It Guide Podcast · host Jenny Alday Townsend

In today's episode, I talk with Julianne and Sean Lechuga, a married couple who run The Wellness Shop 365 based out of Colorado.  In addition to being life and business partners, they are also proud parents to four daughters, ages 18, 12, and 4-year-old twins. Julianne is just 7 months away from holding her Doctorate in Natural Medicine a feat she has been plugging away at before, during, and after her pregnancy with the twins. Despite the challenges she is very excited to fulfill a lifelong dream and proud to show her daughters by example that you can do anything that you set your mind to.Shawn shares his story of deciding at the age of 39 to leave his well-paying and overall fulfilling job to go all in on their shared business. “I remember sitting in my office and I made a list of things that I wanted to do for the college and for...and my ideas were shot down and I thought okay, am I just gonna sit here twiddling my thumbs for the next 25 years? [If so] I'm gonna have a heck of a lot of regrets.”Now, if you’re like me you’re probably wondering how in the world they manage to get this all done, and we get into all of the nitty-gritty details.Shawna and Julianne share how they have implemented a lot of discipline into their home, allowing them to create habits like waking up at 4:30 am (2 hours before the kids), family dinners that include real conversations, and leaning on their community for support.Shawn shares his morning routine essentials which are all about self-care so you can show up as your best self. Julianne shares how to implement self-reflection to strengthen your relationship and communications. “If there's something that he's doing that I don't like, I also have to do a reflection of what I'm doing that's creating that issue, as well as if it's not something inside of me that's doing the same thing. Because..if you don't like something about somebody else, more than likely, you do that thing that you don't like, and that's why it bothers you.”They also include how they created a community within their neighborhood which has led to positive and helpful interactions among neighbors as well as the launch of their online health community in 2024.Looking for the 1 most important thing you can do to get your health right?
