He is a full-time software engineer at Google and the founder and executive director of Justice For Cameroon, an organization that works to shed light on the anglophone crisis in Cameroon and help those affected. He is dedicated to building community through events with Chicago Tech Collective, which he co-founded, and his creation of multiple tech community group chats with thousands of members. Makunde is also working on a start-up aimed at making it easier for people to gain the skills necessary to enter the tech industry.
