Ep. 12: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself (Quick Teachings from Dr. Joe Dispenza)

from The Megan Waldrep Podcast · host Megan Waldrep

In this short episode, I’m sharing a few teachings from Dr. Joe Dispenza that really made me pause and think differently about change. One of the ideas that stuck with me is this: sometimes we don’t fall back into old habits because we want to… we fall back because our body has memorized the emotion. Over time, the body becomes familiar with certain emotional states, like stress, frustration, guilt, and worry. Eventually, those emotions become automatic. Even when we want something different, our nervous system pulls us back into what it knows. Dr. Joe calls this “the habit of being yourself.” In this episode, I talk about how we can begin interrupting that pattern by bringing awareness to our triggers, practicing small daily resets, and intentionally feeling the emotions of the person we want to become.
