Ep. 34: How to Stop Overthinking and Let that Thought Go
Has one tiny thought ever turned into an entire emotional experience? Someone doesn't text back... you see someone else's success... someone says something that lands wrong... And before you know it, your mind has created a whole story about what it means, why it happened, and what might happen next. But what if there's a moment (right in the middle of all that) when you can simply stop? In this episode, we’re talking about the difference between having a thought and following a thought, and why learning to recognize that distinction can change the way you move through your day. Because sometimes the most peaceful thing you can do isn't figure it out, fix it, or think more positively. Sometimes you just don't finish the story. In this episode: Why our minds are so quick to fill in the blanks How a simple thought can become a much bigger story The subtle moment when thinking turns into spiraling A simple practice for catching yourself before the story runs away with you What it might feel like to leave something unresolved, and be okay with it Come listen if your mind has ever taken a perfectly innocent thought and turned it into a whole damn movie. Ep. 33: How to Trust Your Gut (Even When You’re Not Sure)
What if intuition isn't about predicting the future or receiving some mysterious answer from outside yourself...but about getting better at noticing what your body already knows? In this episode, we're talking about pendulums (and why you don't need one), the ideomotor effect, and what may actually be happening in your body when you face a yes-or-no question. The goal isn't to be right every time. It's to develop a relationship with your own internal signals and build trust in yourself. We can start now. Let's Dive In! Ep. 32: Your Triggers Are Your Gurus (Here's How to Take Your Power Back)
Have you ever had a reaction to someone that felt way bigger than the situation seemed to warrant? Of course you have! You're human! So let's figure out how to take our power back in that situation to help us evolve past it. In this episode, we'll explore how moments of frustration, anger, jealousy, rejection, or hurt can become opportunities for deeper self-awareness and how curiosity can help us respond rather than simply react. I even share questions you can ask yourself when something really gets under your skin (I literally used these about an hour after I recorded this podcast...and it worked. Thank God!) Let's Dive In! Ep. 31: The Love Yourself Trick: How to Make Self-Love a Feeling, Not Just an Idea
We hear “love yourself” all the time, but what does that actually mean? How can you understand the idea of self-love without actually feeling it? In this episode, we explore a simple way to experience self-love as a felt sensation rather than just another affirmation you’re supposed to believe (they don't always land, do they?). Instead of trying to manufacture feelings of love for yourself, here's a fun trick you can use as a doorway anytime you need it. Let's Dive In! Ep. 30: The Biggest Breathing Mistake I Hear in Yoga Classes
For years, I believed that bigger breaths were always better. "Take the deepest breath you've taken all day. Fill your lungs completely." If you've taken a yoga class, you've probably heard these cues countless times. But what if breathing bigger isn't always breathing better? In this episode, I explore a fascinating perspective I learned through Oxygen Advantage that challenged what I thought I knew about breathing. We dive into why quiet, slow, nasal breathing may be more supportive for your nervous system than constantly taking deep breaths, and how some modern breathing cues may have drifted away from ancient yogic practices. This isn't about saying yoga is wrong. It's about staying curious, understanding the science, and noticing what your own body tells you. Let's Dive In! Ep.29: Everyone Else Took LSD. I Took Nothing.
What happens when you're the only sober person in the room? In this episode, I share a story from a weekend with old friends. And what unfolded reminded me that clarity, connection, and spiritual insight don't have to come from changing your state of consciousness. Sometimes they come from becoming fully present in the one you're already in. This isn't an episode about whether psychedelics are good or bad. It's an invitation to explore a bigger question: Do we need something outside of ourselves to access the wisdom that's already within us? Let's Dive In! Ep. 28: Why Seeing Old Friends Can Leave You Emotionally Drained
Have you ever come home from a reunion, a weekend with old friends, or a visit to your hometown feeling...off? Maybe you had an amazing time, laughed until your stomach hurt, and genuinely enjoyed reconnecting...yet afterward you felt emotionally drained, anxious, or even a little depressed. If you've ever wondered, "Why do I feel this way when nothing bad even happened?" you're not alone. In this episode, we're exploring why revisiting old places and relationships can stir up emotions you didn't expect. Let's Dive In! Ep. 27: You Don't Need to Fix Anyone
What if one of the most freeing realizations in your spiritual journey is this: You are not responsible for someone else's awakening. In this episode, I'm sharing an idea that's brought me so much peace over the years. From therapy and sobriety to breathwork and everyday relationships, I've learned that we can't force people to change, no matter how much we love them. Instead of carrying the weight of fixing everyone else, what if our only job is to live what we believe? As always, BYOB (Bring Your Own Beliefs). This isn't about having all the answers. It's about exploring life together. In this episode, we'll explore: Why trying to "fix" people is so exhausting The surprising freedom that comes from letting go of control What sobriety taught me about personal change Why spiritual growth isn't about becoming less human How breathwork helps us fully participate in life instead of escaping it Learning to trust your own inner wisdom Resources: FREE: The Breathing Room Toolkit - simple tools to de-stress anytime, anywhere https://meganwaldrep.com/newsletter Let's connect on IG: https://www.instagram.com/megan.waldrep Let’s work together! https://meganwaldrep.com

Ep. 26. The Surprising Difference Between Boundaries and Avoidance
Have you ever wondered if you're protecting your peace...or just avoiding discomfort? It's a question I've been asking myself lately. We hear a lot about setting boundaries (and I'm all for healthy boundaries), but sometimes it's hard to know where the line is between honoring ourselves and quietly hiding from the things that help us grow. In this episode, I'm sharing a mindset shift inspired by an Instagram Reel that sent me down a rabbit hole. We explore why boundaries and avoidance can sometimes look similar on the outside...but feel very different on the inside. As always, BYOB (Bring Your Own Beliefs). I'm not here to tell you what to think. I'm simply inviting you into the conversation. In this episode, we'll explore: The subtle difference between boundaries and avoidance Why discomfort isn't always a sign to walk away Questions to help you discern whether you're protecting your peace or protecting your comfort How to participate in life without being consumed by it Why awareness is often more powerful than escape Let's Dive In! Ep. 23: Grief & the 49 Days After Loss: How a Buddhist Tradition Helped Me Grieve My Uncle Al
*Super special and intimate episode about a recent loss I'm experiencing, and I want to bring you in. Why? Well, when someone we love dies, we're often given a funeral, a few days to gather with family, and then an unspoken expectation to return to life as usual. But grief rarely works that way. In this episode, I share my experience following a Buddhist-inspired 49-day mourning practice after the death of my Uncle Al. This conversation is not about telling you what to believe about death, the afterlife, or spirituality. It's an invitation to explore how ritual can help us process loss, stay present with our emotions, and honor the people who have shaped our lives. Ep. 22: Minisode - Your Superpower is Investing in Your Future One Thought at a Time
In this episode, I’m talking about the idea that every thought is an investment in your future. (Not in a pressure-filled way, but in a way that makes you feel freaking great!) The way you think shapes the way you feel > shapes the way you show up > shapes your life. This episode is your reminder that you are not stuck. Ep. 21: Minisode - The Missing Piece is to Feel It in Your Body (Here's How To Do It)
In this episode, I’m diving into the part of mindset work that changed everything for me: the body. Because thoughts don’t just stay in your mind. Your body feels them too. When you’re anxious, your body tightens. Your breathing changes. Your nervous system reacts before you even realize it. But the opposite is *also* true: Your body can help lead you back to calm. Ep. 20 The Trick for Choosing Better Thoughts
In this episode, I’m talking about the moment that changes everything: catching the thought. Most of us don’t realize how much of our day is running on mental autopilot. Ep. 19: Minisode - How to Catch the Thought and Break the Spiral
In this episode, I’m talking about the moment that changes everything: catching the thought. Most of us don’t realize how much of our day is running on mental autopilot. One thought turns into a spiral, and before we know it, we’re already stressed, overwhelmed, or assuming the worst. But here’s the good news: You don’t have to stop every negative thought from happening. You just have to notice it. In this episode, I share: Why your brain is constantly scanning for “threats.” How overthinking becomes a habit Why awareness is the first real shift A simple practice to interrupt spiraling thoughts This episode is your reminder that your thoughts are no longer bossing you around. You can pause, notice, breathe, and choose differently.

Ep. 18: How Your Thoughts Are Quietly Shaping Your Life
In this episode, I’m diving deeper into something we hear all the time: “What you put out, you get back.” But instead of focusing on actions (like being kind, which, yes, always), I want to talk about something even more powerful… your thoughts. Because here’s the truth: You’re not just thinking all day long, you’re shaping your reality, your future, and your life. I break down: Why your mind works like a boomerang (and what you’re actually throwing out there) How overthinking and worst-case scenarios quietly drain your energy What it feels like in your body when you start thinking differently And how every thought is a small investment in your future. I also share a personal look back at my past struggles with addiction, shame, and growth, and how shifting my thoughts helped me move forward with compassion instead of judgment. Ep. 17: Breath Break - Belly Breathing
If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your head, this episode is your reminder that relief doesn’t have to be complicated. In today’s quick reset, I walk you through one of the most powerful (and overlooked) tools you always have with you: your breath. Ep. 16: Detachment Relationship Model will Save Your Partnership and Here's How.
I used to think being a good partner meant fixing everything (keeping the peace, making sure everyone felt okay, and jumping in whenever something felt “off.") But what I’ve learned (and am still practicing) is that real support doesn’t always look like doing more… sometimes it looks like doing less. In this episode, I’m sharing a simple but powerful concept that completely shifted how I show up in my relationship: emotional detachment. Not in a cold or distant way, but in a grounded, respectful, and supportive way. If you’ve ever felt yourself absorbing someone else’s mood, trying to fix things that aren’t yours to fix, or getting pulled into emotional spirals that weren’t even yours to begin with… this one’s for you. Ep. 15: What are Grounding Practices? Here's Some To Try If You Want
In this episode, we’re talking about grounding practices… like, what the heck are they anyway? I break down what grounding actually is, why it matters, and how you can use it in real life when your mind starts spiraling or stress takes over. This isn’t about being perfect or having it all figured out. I’m sharing what I’m learning right alongside you, so you can take what works, leave what doesn’t, and build your own tool belt of support. Also, just a reminder (because we all need it): You’re doing better than you think. What You’ll Learn in This Episode What grounding actually means (in real-life terms) Why your brain spirals—and how to interrupt it How to bring yourself back to the present moment Simple ways to retrain your mind and nervous system How to shift from overwhelm → clarity → calm Let's connect on IG: @megan.waldrep FREE: Simple tools to reset your focus and energy anytime, anywhere: Get The Calm Compass through this link or visit meganwaldrep.com/newsletter

Ep. 14: Why Self Improvement Feels Worse Before it Gets Better
Today, I’m talking about something that comes up for all of us on a self-growth journey...the feeling that you’re somehow going backwards. You start doing all the “right” things like meditating, journaling, moving your body, and showing up for yourself. But instead of feeling better, everything feels harder. I’ve been there. We talk about: Why self-improvement can feel worse before it feels better What’s actually happening when your mind feels busier than ever The “wave” pattern of growth (and why it’s not linear) How each low point isn’t failure—it’s strength-building Why awareness is the real work The connection between emotional growth and “adding weight to the bar.” Letting go of perfection and embracing real, human progress I also open up about my personal journey through addiction and healing, and how showing up again and again (and again and again) completely changed my life. Ep. 13: How to Deal with Rude People And Not Ruin Your Vibe
I used to let one rude comment ruin my entire day. Maybe you’ve been there too; replaying it, questioning yourself, wondering what you did wrong. In this episode, I’m sharing a real-life moment that stopped me in my tracks (literally… in line for sourdough bread), and how it became a powerful reminder: When someone is rude to you, it's a reflection of their inner chaos and not a reflection on your worth. We’re talking about what’s actually happening when someone lashes out, how to stop internalizing other people’s energy, and simple, real-life ways to respond without losing yourself in the process. Because protecting your peace doesn’t mean being passive, it means staying rooted in who you are. What We Chat About in This Episode Why rude behavior is often a reflection of internal overwhelm—not your worth How to stop absorbing other people’s emotions A simple mindset shift that creates instant space in heated moments The difference between empathy and over-identifying with someone else’s pain Practical ways to respond to rudeness without escalating the situation Let's connect on IG: @megan.waldrep FREE: Simple tools to reset your focus and energy anytime, anywhere: Get The Calm Compass through this link or visit meganwaldrep.com/newsletter

Ep. 12: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself (Quick Teachings from Dr. Joe Dispenza)
In this short episode, I’m sharing a few teachings from Dr. Joe Dispenza that really made me pause and think differently about change. One of the ideas that stuck with me is this: sometimes we don’t fall back into old habits because we want to… we fall back because our body has memorized the emotion. Over time, the body becomes familiar with certain emotional states, like stress, frustration, guilt, and worry. Eventually, those emotions become automatic. Even when we want something different, our nervous system pulls us back into what it knows. Dr. Joe calls this “the habit of being yourself.” In this episode, I talk about how we can begin interrupting that pattern by bringing awareness to our triggers, practicing small daily resets, and intentionally feeling the emotions of the person we want to become. Ep. 11: The 5 Laws of the Universe - A Simple Way to Think About Reality
In this episode, I’m talking about a set of ideas that have fascinated me for a long time: The Five Laws of the Universe, as shared through Darryl Anka’s channelings. Whether you see these teachings as spiritual philosophy, metaphysical exploration, or simply a framework for thinking about life differently, they offer a really interesting way to look at how reality works. What I love about these laws is how simple they are (I've added them to my morning meditation!) and how much they explain about our experience as human beings and the "here and now." These five ideas suggest that reality isn’t random. Instead, it operates through a few core principles that shape how we experience life, time, connection, and change. Let's Dive In! Ep. 10: What Does It Really Mean To "Live in the Present?"
We hear the phrase “all we have is the present moment” all the time. But if that’s true… what about our memories? What about the stories people tell about our past? What about photos, experiences, and everything we’ve already lived? In this episode, I explore a deeper way of understanding what people really mean when they say the present is all we have...and why this idea can be incredibly empowering rather than limiting. Ep. 9: How Separate Beds Saved Our Relationship
This episode might surprise you. In this episode, I’m sharing how sleeping in separate beds (sometimes separate rooms) quite literally saved our marriage. Not because we were failing, but because we wanted our relationship to survive and thrive. We talk about: Why poor sleep was slowly eroding our patience The resentment that builds when your nervous system never fully resets Why “good couples sleep in the same bed” is a cultural script we don’t question How honoring what our bodies needed changed everything The difference between intimacy and proximity Why rest is relational I also share the emotional side of this decision: the guilt, the fear of what people would think, and the identity shift that came with choosing what worked for us rather than what looked “normal.” If you’ve ever felt tension rise because you’re overstimulated, overtired, or just needing space to breathe, this one is for you. Sometimes marriage isn’t saved by more talking. It’s saved by sleeping more. You’re not broken. You might just need better rest. Ep. 7: How Bad Bunny Taught Our Nervous Systems to Feel Safe
This might sound funny, but I didn’t expect a halftime show to regulate my nervous system the way it did. As a half-Puerto Rican and second-generation woman in the U.S., I’ve always lived in that in-between space. A space that makes selecting “Race/Ethnicity” on application forms confusing (and why most of the time, I chose “other”). As a Puerto Rican, I inherited resilience. I inherited pride. Yet, I also inherited a nervous system shaped by survival. My family worked in sugarcane fields and coffee farms on the island. They had many mouths to feed, no electricity or running water, and struggled to provide. Yet, the courage of my grandparents, who started a new chapter in a new land, has allowed me to make this podcast for you. Maybe you see this in your family lineage. Our DNA carries the impressions of what our families have endured, and much of our scarcity mindset stems from the need to survive. So at my sister’s Super Bowl party, when Bad Bunny took that stage being unapologetically Puerto Rican, something in me, and many of us, broke open, and here's why. Let's dive in... Ever feel like your body is in full fight-or-flight mode… over an email? In this mini Breath Break episode, I’m breaking down the nervous system in a way that’s actually easy (and kind of fun) to understand — no boring science lesson required. We’re talking: • Why stress today feels like a saber-toothed tiger to your body • The “chill pill” part of your nervous system (aka your built-in calm button) • Why you can’t think your way into calm — but you can breathe your way there • A simple candle breathing practice you can use anywhere (yes, even in the grocery store line) This is meditation for people who can’t meditate — quick, practical, and something you’ll actually use in real life. Ep 3: Building Millions By Using Your Inner Moral Compass w/ Nannette Stangle-Castor
In today’s episode, I sit down with someone who has deeply shaped the way I think about success, leadership, and integrity - one of my mentors, Nannette Stangle-Castor. What I love about this conversation is that while we talk on this podcast about breath, spiritual energy, and inner alignment, this episode shows what that can look like in real life without any spiritual language at all. This is a conversation about values. About listening to yourself. About choosing integrity for career, family, and life, even when it’s hard, and how it changes everything. Nannette's story is proof that you don’t have to be spiritual to live aligned. You just have to be willing to lead with honesty, clarity, and heart. Ep 2: Plot Twist: Why I'm Rebranding (and Where We're Going Next)
I knew the sale of the fishing business was coming for a while, so I braced myself for change. In my head, I wasn't going to stop talking about Partners of Commercial Fishermen. But deep down, I knew there would be a shift, and I was nervous about what that would look like. I had no idea how significant that shift would be. In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of that big shift, why it made me look at business differently, and how to connect with ourselves (and infinite possibilities!), so when the next path is laid out before us, we can trust it, one step at a time, even when we don't know what's next. Protecting Those Who Work the Sea with Beth Casoni of Massachusetts Lobstermen's Association
Today, we’re talking with Beth Casoni of the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association about something that goes deeper than just fishing: it’s about community, care, and what happens when the unthinkable strikes. As we know, the sea is unpredictable, but amid that risk is a tight-knit community that shows up for one another in powerful ways. We’ll talk about how lobstering families support each other, how MLA steps in during shifts in regulation and tragedy, and how they actively reach out to officials to make sure their fishermen’s voices are heard. We Sold the Fishing Business— What’s Getting Us Through the Transition
Today’s episode is a big one. On the first day of spiny lobster season, we announce something deeply personal: Chris and I sold the fishing business. Chris has been fishing since he was 15—lobster, salmon, sea cucumber, Bristol Bay—you name it. Over 15 seasons, I’ve been alongside him, which eventually inspired the creation of the Partners of Commercial Fishermen. Selling the Joseph Warren marks the end of a chapter and the start of something new. In this episode, I share: The emotional and logistical process of selling the boat. How therapy supported us through the transition. The power of the POCF community (we literally helped make the sale happen!). Why “salt in our blood” means this community is forever part of us. Whether you’re navigating a career shift, considering therapy, or just curious about what happens when a fisherman retires or sells their boat, this episode is for you.
