Ep 12: Mental Wellbeing with James Fennelly

from Counsellor Convos with Sheila McMahon

Hi Folks,   Trigger warning: themes of depression, suicidal thoughts and experiences, and mental ill health. If you need urgent assistance please contact the Samaritans on 116 123   'there is so much power in saying no' James Fennelly gives us some amazing advice today and insights from his role at West Clare Mental Health Association. He also has some amazing info about the lighthouse building at around 40 minutes in, as well as ways to combat SAD (Seasonal Affective Dissorder). His advice is to increase exposure to light during those winter and darker months, as well as supplement with Vitamin D! My advice is to take D3 and K2 supplements. It's the most direct way for your body to absorb that vitamin D and, ladies, vitamin D also helps fight off the development of osteoperosis so it's a win win in my books! Finally, my next suicide prevention event on Tuesday 16th April will be an in person event with some familiar faces in attendance. If you're wanting to know more on how to help yourself and others, come on by!
