Ep. 120 | Identifying and Navigating Phone and Internet Scams

from EPAGA University · host Inga Lake & Julie Brubaker

"Scammers use lots of different tactics — stories about grandchildren in distress, million-dollar prizes, a romantic future, or a business deal — to try to steal peoples’ money. Scammers may demand payment by wire transfers, gift cards, and cryptocurrency — methods that transfer funds quickly and anonymously." Scams are terrifying, as they are so often completed before you even realize what's going on. Our older generation tends to be more vulnerable, and there's only so much we can do to help them stop it. Fortunately, there are some things to look out for that can equip your older loved ones to be more vigilant. Join us this week as we discuss ways to prevent scams, protect your loved ones, and what do if you are scammed.
