Nerdy ass Patrick Dempsey offers the head cheerleader $1000 to pretend to like him so he can be cool, and, in classic 80s fashion, she falls for him, but he's too self-absorbed to even notice. He starts to blow off his old friends, including Children of the Corn's Malachai, turning into a real shitheel, and, of course, hilarity ensues. This is a nostalgic classic for Jack and Whitney but a first-time watch for Derrick.
