Ep. 133: Things I Didn’t Buy w/ Michael ArveloThings I Didn’t Buy started in 2020 when my thrifting buddy Victoria introduced me to the world of estate sales. Each Saturday morning we visited homes converted into pop-up retail spaces where everything was for sale. I quickly realized that I couldn’t possibly take possession of all of the fantastic things that I saw, and my Instagram account was born.Since then, my adventures have steered me to global flea markets, local thrift shops, and all varieties of vintage and resale in between. I do buy some things - photos, letters and mementos. To me, they’re artifacts of lives before digital, and they’re all treasures.
