Ep 136. Daniel Chapter 3: "But If Not" Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego's kind of faith (Women's Bible Study)
from She Walks Worthy ] Bible Study for Women, Bible Study for Beginners, Bible Study for Seekers, Bible Journey, · host Penni Quitsch, Lover of God, Seeker of the Kingdom
Oh this is a big chapter for us this week as we look with adult eyes at what, for most of us, is one of the most beloved Bible stories from our childhood. In response to Daniel's interpretation of his dream in chapter 2, Nebuchadnezzar sets in motion his plan to keep his empire from falling. All he has to do is intimidate all the leaders of the Babylonian provinces to prostrate themselves in worship of a statue that "resembles" the statue from his dream...but with Nebbie's own twist. Intimidated people will be far less likely to rebel and try to overthrow his kingdom. He doesn't count on any resistance. And that's where our main characters come in. They refuse to bow down to an idol, and even threat of death won't deter them. Listen to the dramatic storyline unfold that leads to their statement of faith, "But if not...."
