This feature was officially rolled out on July 29, 2025, and represents OpenAI’s response to growing concerns about AI’s impact on education and students’ critical thinking skills.How Study Mode WorksStudy Mode operates on the principle of Socratic questioning, encouraging students to engage actively with the material rather than simply receiving direct answers.
