Directed by Renny Harlin and starring Saffron Burrows, Tom Jane, Sam Jackson, LL Cool J, and Stellan Skarsgard, <strong>Deep Blue Sea</strong> tells the tale of Dr. Susan McAlester, who is working on a cure for Alzheimer’s. So she starts by juicing up shark brains, obviously. After setting up shop in an isolated ocean lab, because nothing says "safe science" like experimenting on super-intelligent killing machines in the middle of nowhere, the company's corporate watchdog shows up to check if the brain-harvesting science is ethically sound (spoiler: it’s not), and things take a nosedive. A “routine procedure” turns into a full-blown shark uprising, as it turns out, giving sharks giant brains doesn’t make them friendlier; it just makes them better at plotting your demise.
