Ep. 159. Introduction AND Prepisode to 1-2-3 John (Women's Bible Study)

Welcome Back!  Or just Welcome Welcome if you're new around here. We are back from our extended Spring Break with a brand new study of the New Testament books of 1-2-3 John. I am super excited to introduce these letters to you today where the Apostle John takes on false teachers who were infiltrating the churches around Ephesus where John was now living. These false teachers were confusing believers to the extent that believers were asking the question "What gospel do we believe?" John answers this question in a way that leaves no room for error, and is meant to comfort his readers that the true gospel is that which was heard from Jesus, the Son of God. Some of the major themes that run through these letters are: *the true doctrine of the Son of God *abiding *the "new-old" commandment *fellowship & joy *light & darkness *love and obedience *truth & lies *antichrist & the world Jot these down as we will refer to them often as we move through these letters.
