Ep. 160: Busman’s Holiday “Table Talk Album” and much more (live and unedited)I’ve known Addison and Lewis for around 17 years as I used to book music in West Philadelphia in the 2000’s and booked Busman’s Holiday a bunch of times. I stopped booking in 2009, but had such a good memory of their music, that over the years I’d kept tabs on them and would always listen to their new stuff. We reconnected a few months ago and finally got the opportunity to chat with them. It was good timing as “Table Talk” was just completed. This is one of my favorite albums I’ve heard in years. Their music just gets into your soul and makes you happy and hopeful. The songwriting just brings you into the wonderful places and experiences they write about. They explore folk, jazz, funk, and a lot of the production sounds like it was made in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s a great album to put on loud in your car and sing along to. I highly recommend you buy the vinyl or files as this is a band is highly worth supporting and it’s always hard to make a good buck in music with all the streaming services. I had a great fun chat with them and learned that they are highly influenced by film and also have also been doing comedy improv for years. Well rounded and interesting guys.
