Ep #177 Interview with Orenda

from The Loud Spot with Sebastian · host Sebastian Cosme

Orenda: noun (idea); The spiritual power inherent in people and their environment; the power of human will to change the world. Composed of vocalist Winston Purkiss, drummer Connor Mulhern, bassist Zach True, and guitarists Jason Hinkle and Sheldon Mountain, the group began as the bedroom brainchild of Jason and Winston, and through time and determination, has grown to be a reckoning force in heavy music. The band has spent the last few years touring at any opportunity, and developing into a powerhouse live act. But with the onset of COVID, the group took to the writing room to push the band and its ideals forward. Finished with help of the legendary Henrik Udd, 2021 presents countless opportunities for the act to step into the next chapter with eyes on the horizon. Orenda has worked diligently to stay true to the meaning of its namesake- standing as a representation, a source of ambition and willpower to every listener; a megaphone to all to take their destinies in their own hands, and be the change they want to see in the world, whether internal or external, micro or macro. No matter how dark or negative the content, there is always a light at the end, a silver lining to be had; a metaphor of intention in every piece of work. Orenda is everyone’s inherent power of will to change the world; and the group is here to scream it from the rooftops. Author Credit: Spotify – Orenda Learn more about your ad choices.
