<p>It's Derrick's 40th birthday this month, so we're getting into some of his favorite genres and we kick it off this week with a lo-fi crime caper, <strong>Red Rock West</strong>! This neo-noir thriller stars Nicolas Cage as a down-on-his-luck drifter who stumbles into a small Wyoming town and is mistaken for a hitman hired to kill a local woman, played by Lara Flynn Boyle of <strong>Twin Peaks</strong>. Seizing the chance for easy money, he takes the cash but soon finds himself entangled in a web of deceit, murder, and double-crosses, especially when the <em>real</em> hitman (Dennis Hopper) shows up.
