"FALL COLLECTION. IKEA." Marvel's Phase 4 slate in 2019 promised a lot of radical new directions for the MCU going forward. One of these was Chloé Zhao's Eternals, a massive ensemble piece with ambitious goals, for both the film itself and the wider universe going forward. Upon release, however, the film ended up being the franchise's first critical and commercial dud in nearly a decade, with many citing its bloated length, uninteresting characters, and bland visuals.
