    EP 180 - ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (2018)

"YOU'RE THE WORLD'S GREATEST GRANDMA." After Ant-Man 1 surprised audiences and Civil War left him in an uncertain position, many wondered what Scott Lang's next adventure would look like. What they would get in a couple years is something that builds upon the heist aspect from the first film, though many over the years feel the film is a bit bland. So, what do we think? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they continue Phase 3 of the MCUathon with ANT-MAN AND THE WASP!

  2. 175

    EP 179 - BLACK PANTHER (2018)

LONG LIVE THE KING. Coming out of Civil War, T'Challa's solo adventure was one of Marvel's most anticipated films going forward. That anticipation would coalesce in the form of one of the most successful comic book films of all time, and one of the most beloved from the MCU. So, several years later, how does it hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, Trey, and (a late) Darby to find out as they continue Phase 3 of the MCUathon with Ryan Coogler's BLACK PANTHER!

  3. 174

    EP 178 - THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)

"HE'S A FRIEND FROM WORK!" Though the MCU as a whole seemed to thrive, one of its weaker links reception-wise was the Thor franchise. Though the first film captivated audiences enough, The Dark World didn't have nearly enough excitement behind it, and thus the original plan for the third film was taken in an entirely new direction for the third one. What resulted was a loud, bright, colorful entry that critics liked and audiences adored, but how well does it hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they continue Phase 3 of the MCUathon with a film that gets more divisive as the years go by -- Taika Waititi's THOR: RAGNAROK!

  4. 173

EP 177 - GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, VOL. 2 (2017)

"NEVER BREAK THE CHAIN!" After Guardians 1 changed the game for the MCU, many wondered what James Gunn would have in store for the sequel. What many could not have predicted was a story that very well might eclipse its predecessor entirely. Time to find out if that still holds. Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey as they continue Phase 3 of the MCUathon with James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, VOL. 2!

  5. 172

    EP 176 - DOCTOR STRANGE (2016)

"TEACH ME." Amongst the gallery of heroes, one Marvel character that had been trying to break into Hollywood was the Master of the Mystic Arts himself. Between a low budget pilot-turned-film in the 70's, a direct-to-DVD animated film in 2007, numerous guest appearances in cartoons, as well as multiple film pitches, it seemed like it'd be an eternity. However, the reveal of MCU Phase 3 brought about its official announcement, and two years later Benedict Cumberbatch donned the Cloak of Levitation on the big screen. So, how does it hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they continue Phase 3 of the MCUathon with DOCTOR STRANGE!

  6. 171

EP 175 - CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016) (ft. @SpiderKnightART)

UNITED WE STAND. DIVIDED WE FALL. When Batman v. Superman was on track for the May 6, 2016 release date, Marvel quickly countered it not only by setting Captain America 3 for the same date, but by announcing it would be adapting the infamous Civil War comic that pit Steve and Tony against each other. It ultimately won out, and alongside serving as the introductions for Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and Tom Holland's Spider-Man, drastically set the stage and everyone's excitement for Phase 3. The question is, though, does it still hold up, or does time make it collapse under its own weight? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, Trey, and special guest Helena (@SpiderKnightART) to find out as they revisit the start of Phase 3 of the MCU -- CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR!

  7. 170

    EP 174 - ANT-MAN (2015)

ANTS! ANTS! Before the MCU had taken shape, Edgar Wright started developing a film adaptation of Ant-Man. Eventually it was folded into the MCU, with a 2015 release date planted alongside impressive-looking test footage wowing the press. When the time came to start production, Wright dropped out, and alongside an underwhelming teaser a year later, many thought this would be Marvel's first definitive dud. Thankfully the final film released to mass praise and success, but how does it hold up eleven years later? Come join Brian, Alec, and Trey to find out as they wrap up Phase 2 of the MCUathon with another at-the-time gamble -- ANT-MAN!

  8. 169

EP 173 - AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)

"NO STRINGS ON ME..." After the first Avengers movie changed the game forever, everyone wondered what the sequel had in store. Especially when it was revealed that instead of tackling Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, the film would focus on fan-favorite villain Ultron while saving that story for the third film. While met with positive reactions and a similarly successful commercial run, the culmination of Phase 2 has become regarded as more of a bizarre buffer and prelude for Phase 3 rather than a strong story in its own right. Eleven years later, does that still ring true? Tune in to find out as Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey continue Phase 2 of the MCUathon with the movie whose trailer tricked the masses, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON!

  9. 168

EP 172 - GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014)

"TAKE MY HAND..." 2014 was a pretty big year for comic book movies. The Winter Soldier got the MCU back on track, Days of Future Past was an awesome movie written and directed by nobody, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 certainly had a lot of money spent on it! What seemed up in the air at the time was the the tale of Peter Quill and his band of misfits, considered to be MCU's biggest gamble and first potential failure at the time. Little did we all know it'd become one of its biggest hits that would cement the franchise's inability to fail forever (or at least until after Endgame). So all these years later, what do we think of it? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they continue Phase 2 of the MCUathon with James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!

  10. 167

EP 171 - CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

"'TIL THE END OF THE LINE." After The Dark World's release, people wondered just where on Earth the MCU was going, especially now knowing that Thanos wouldn't be coming for a while. Many also didn't quite know what to expect from Steve Rogers' next outing. What they were met with was what many consider to this day to be one of the top three films in the entire franchise that changes everything. So, does it still hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they continue Phase 2 of teh MCUathon with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER!

  11. 166

EP 170 - THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)

MORE LIKE... MORE LIKE THE POOP WORLD... GOTTEM...After the mostly-positive but still a bit tepid reception to the admittedly-smash-hitting Iron Man 3, 2013 would continue to be a growing pains year for Marvel with the release of the next Thor movie. Having production troubles right out the gate with initial director Patty Jenkins, Alan Taylor stepped up to the plate only to have the movie ripped away from him in post. This has often been referred to as the black sheep of the Infinity Saga, but how bad is it really? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue MCU Phase 2 with its lowest point -- THOR: THE DARK WORLD!

  12. 165

    EP 169 - IRON MAN 3 (2013)

COMMENCING PHASE 2. We're back at it with the MCU! After The Avengers' massive success, many wondered where this new franchise (now-dubbed the Marvel Cinematic Universe) would go next, especially with its next film being a new Iron Man entry. What many didn't expect was that 2013 would turn out to be a growing pains year for Marvel Studios, and this film signaled that heavily. Despite its massive success and positive reviews, fans are split to this day on Tony Stark's last solo film. So, what do we think? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they revisit the first entry of Phase 2, IRON MAN 3!

  13. 164

    EP 168 - CHAINSAW MAN: THE MOVIE - REZE ARC (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"I'LL TEACH YOU EVERYTHING..." One of the most popular new anime and manga franchises from the past ten years has been Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man, and after three years of waiting the next installment of the animated adaptation has finally been released. The tragic tale of Denji and Reze has been unanimously praised for its storytelling and gorgeous animation, but how does it hold up several months after release? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they take a look at one of last year's most-praised animated films -- CHAINSAW MAN: THE MOVIE - REZE ARC!

  14. 163

    EP 167 - GRAVITY FALLS: THE FINAL EPISODES (2015 - 2016) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"READY TO HEAD INTO THE UNKNOWN?" It has officially been ten years since Alex Hirsch's magnum opus ended, and we figured it was high time to revisit. The final episodes of Dipper and Mabel's coming-of-age story have been universally lauded, but how well do they truly hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they revisit the final episodes of GRAVITY FALLS -- DIPPER AND MABEL VS. THE FUTURE, and all of WEIRDMAGEDDON!

  15. 162

    EP 166 - FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2 (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

KEPT YOU WAITING, HUH? The long hiatus is over, and boy oh boy do we have a doozy for you. Five Nights at Freddy's proved to be a heavily divisive adaptation a couple years back, with many hoping for its sequel to go smoother. Needless to say, it's only gotten more divisive. You know what that means. Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey as they take a look at the latest confusing mess from the mind of Scott Cawthon (Emma Tammi's innocent until further notice), FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2!

  16. 161

    EP 165 - NEXT TO NORMAL (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying)

"IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY!" Happy New Year gang! So hard to believe we're already in the late 2020's! To celebrate, it's finally time for another musical track! Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's tale of mental illness and suburban decay lit up Broadway stages in the late 2000's -- even winning a Pulitzer -- but it was the UK's production of it from 2023 to 2024 that truly catapulted it into the mainstream. Probably has to do with the fact that it has an official proshot, but yanno. So, does it live up to the hype? Come join Brian, Alec, and Darby to find out as they ring in the new year with NEXT TO NORMAL!

  17. 160

EP 164 - WAKE UP DEAD MAN (2025) (ft. @HeyGuysItSpidey)

YOUNG, DUMB, AND FULL OF CHRISTMAS. Happy Holidays everyone! The best way to celebrate is a healthy dose of murder, and who best to help us solve it than our favorite Foghorn Leghorn soundalike! The Knives Out films have become modern classics, and with the new one finally out, it's time for Papa Rian to take us home. So, come celebrate the occasion with Brian, Alec, and Trey as they take a look at Benoit Blanc's most dangerous case yet -- Rian Johnson's WAKE UP DEAD MAN!

  18. 159

    EP 163 - AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER (2022) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"THEN LET'S GET IT DONE." After Avatar broke the box office and changed blockbuster filmmaking forever, people wondered when James Cameron would make his next foray into the world of Pandora. What many would come to be familiar with was the exasperated wait for not one, not two, not three, but four sequels in an unprecedented and ambitious saga. After thirteen years of tech catching up with James's vision, the first chapter finally made its way into theaters three years ago. Though praised critically and successful commercially, how does it hold up with four people who aren't the most Eywa-pilled? Before you see Fire & Ash, come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey as they take a look at one of the most ambitious blockbusters of all time -- James Cameron's AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER!

  19. 158

    EP 162 - AVATAR (2009) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

Y'ALL MIND IF A WHITE BOY SPEAKS A LITLLE NA'VI? With the third entry a week away, it's time for us to venture into the world of Pandora and into the mind of one of the greatest directors of all time -- James Cameron. The tale of Jake Sully and Neytiri has been his baby -- in the works since the 90's and taking years of technological advancements to bring to life. But beyond all the wonder and the sheen, is there something truly juicy to munch on? Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey to find out as they take a look at the highest grossing film of all time -- James Cameron's AVATAR!

  20. 157

    EP 161 - CARRY-ON (2024) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"ALL YOU HAVE TO DO... IS NOTHING." Happy Holidays everyone! To kick off the season, let's all bring ourselves to the edge of a nervous breakdown! The thriller genre isn't as robust today as it used to be, but Netflix's most-watched film of 2024 dared to revitalize it with a holiday twist. The result was what we consider to be a true successor to Die Hard. Hold on tight. Come join Brian, Alec, Darby, and Trey as they take a look at a new anxiety-inducing holiday classic -- CARRY-ON!

  21. 156

    EP 160 - TRANSFORMERS ONE (2024) (ft. @gwenstacying)

"I'M DONE SAVING YOU." Transformers has been a franchise that has endured for forty years in TV, games, comics, and films -- despite the latter being tumultuous for nearly two decades. The Michael Bay films were box office hits but only seemed to grow sour with the audience more and more over time, and did no favors for the Bumblebee spinoff or the first Bay-less live action attempt with Rise of the Beasts. Then, for the first time since the eighties, an animated film hit theaters last year. Despite its poor marketing and box office flop, it has become a cult classic among fans, and definitely amongst us. So, how does it hold up one year later? Come join Brian, Alec, and special guest Darby (@gwenstacying) to find out as they revisit the phenomenal TRANSFORMERS ONE!

  22. 155

    EP 159 - WEAPONS (2025) (ft. @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"THIS IS WHERE THE STORY REALLY STARTS." HAPPY HALLOWEEN! To celebrate the occasion, we figured we'd take a look at one of the year's most popular horror offerings. Zach Cregger's been making a name for himself in the filmmaking space, first with Barbarian and next year with Resident Evil. Is his sophomore outing really all it's cracked up to be? Come join Brian, Alec, and special guest Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) to find out as they check out what many have called a new classic -- Zach Cregger's WEAPONS!

  23. 154

    EP 158 - FREDDY VS. JASON (2003) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

PLACE YOUR BETS! While we wind down to the last holidays of the year, it's time to put the MCU on the backburner for a minute and dive into a couple horror flicks! A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th were two slasher genres past their prime in the nineties, but that didn't stop the ultimate crossover from trudging its way through development hell for nearly a decade before finally gracing the silver screen at a time the slasher genre only saw success in parodies and pastiches. So, does the cheese hold up, or does the datedness bring it down? Come join Brian, Alec, and special guests Darby (@gwenstacying) and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) to find out as they celebrate Spooky Season with the ultimate horror crossover -- FREDDY VS. JASON!

  24. 153

    EP 157 - THE AVENGERS (2012) (ft. @gwenstacying, @HeyGutsItSpidey, & @SpiderKnightART)

"THERE WAS AN IDEA..." 2012 was a big year. The end of the Dark Knight trilogy. The beginning of the short-lived Amazing Spider-Man franchise. The premiere of Gravity Falls. Disappointing endings to Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed. The end of the world itself. But only one movie in particular marked both the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Back in the day, nothing like today's film could ever be conceivable in terms of pulling off, but somehow they did it. So, does the movie that changed the game of blockbuster filmmaking hold up? Come join Alec, Brian, and special guests Darby (@gwenstacying), Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey), & Helena (@SpiderKnightART) as they finish up Phase One of the MCUathon with the movie that defied every expectation -- THE AVENGERS!

  25. 152

EP 156 - CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)

"I HAD A DATE." With the road to Avengers all but cleared, there was one character left to introduce before the biggest crossover movie of all time -- the leader. Captain America never tried his hand again at the silver screen after the disaster that was the 1990 film, and getting this new attempt off the ground had its own share of troubles. In spite of all that, the movie finally got made, and even though it was received with lukewarm reactions, it's certainly garnered a lot of love over time. So, how is it now, looking back? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they near the end of Phase One of the MCUathon with the start of its (arguably) best trilogy -- CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER!

  26. 151

    EP 155 - THOR (2011)

AKA ODIN GETS CRITICIZED ONCE AND DIES. Lukewarm off the heels of The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2, Marvel's path towards The Avengers got a little rocky. The film was delayed by a year, and they had to hunker down on their last two establishing films beforehand. First up was the God of Thunder, arguably their biggest dice roll in casting then-unknowns Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. The end result was a film that, while not entirely lightning in a bottle, captured audiences in ways they wouldn't entirely realize until the year after. So, how does it hold up? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue Phase 1 of the MCUathon with Kenneth Branagh's THOR!

  27. 150

    EP 154 - IRON MAN 2 (2010)

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE." After the shock success of Iron Man, Marvel quickly put a sequel into production. Problem was, between their acquisition by Disney, their planned roadmap, and a non-negotiable May 2010 release date, this was a project doomed to be rushed, disjointed, and interfered with. However, is it really as messy as everyone says it is? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue Phase One of the MCUathon with the other bump in the road towards The Avengers -- IRON MAN 2!

  28. 149

    EP 153 - THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)

WOW, LOOK! NOTHING! In the very, VERY early days of the MCU, Kevin was trying to get the various studios that had the rights to Marvel's biggest characters to cooperate with him and Marvel Studios in building his interconnected universe. One that seemed to join him at the start was Universal, as the two worked together to create a new Hulk movie. While nothing seemed to really go wrong, one could say it's clear from the final product why they haven't come together again. So, come join Brian and Alec as they continue Phase 1 of the MCUathon with the often-forgotten follow-up to Iron Man -- THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

  29. 148

    EP 152 - IRON MAN (2008)

"MY TURN." The next Avengers film is about a year out. We have over thirty films to sift through. Let's get started. Back in the day, it was inconceivable to make a franchise connecting a bunch of different solo characters on the big screen the way they were in comics. Back in the day, Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. were seen as box office bombs waiting to happen. Little did we all know this was the movie that launched the most profitable film franchise of all time. Come join Brian and Alec to look back at how it all started as they being their MCUathon with the genesis -- IRON MAN!

  30. 147

    EP 151 - SUPERMAN (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"TAKE ME HOME."One of 2025's most anticipated and successful movies of the year has finally come out on digital, and it's time for the gang to take a looksie. The Big Blue Boy Scout's first solo movie in twelve years has been a massive hit, but has proven somewhat divisive amongst fans. So, with a menagerie of different viewpoints looking at it, what do we think this time around? Come join Brian, Alec, and special guests Darby (@gwenstacying) and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) to find out as they revisit the film that has the general public believing in DC again -- James Gunn's SUPERMAN!

  31. 146

    EP 150 - SKY HIGH (2005) (ft. @HeyGuysItSpidey)

HERO OR SIDEKICK?As we all know, the 2000's were something of a renaissance when it came to superhero adaptations, all culminating with the golden age that started with The Avengers in 2012. What many people didn't often discuss were the myriad of satires and pastiches that appeared around then that had no clue how ahead of their time they would be. From Kirkman's Invincible to Mazin's Superhero Movie, lots of different things were already taking tropes we knew of and turning them on their heads. In 2005, Disney sought to do the same on a family-friendly level. While it may not have been a smash hit, it certainly left an impact on a lot of us. So, come join Brian, Alec, and special guest Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) as they revisit a childhood classic (that may be more messed up than they remember) -- SKY HIGH!

  32. 145

    EP 149 - WAR OF THE WORLDS (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

IT'S WORSE THAN YOU THINK. 2020 was a strange time. We all stayed in our homes. Brian and Alec were doing a different show. And movies were struggling to find new ways to get made. One blooming subgenre, Screenlife, was poised by producer Timur Bekmambetov over the years as the evolution of found footage. With lockdown seemingly indefinite, he was tasked by Universal to prove that this subgenre had enough mileage in it to navigate this unforeseeable future. The resulting film was so historically awful that it came out five years later on Amazon prime after just six days of marketing. Oh boy. Come join Brian, Alec, and special guests Darby (@gwenstacying) and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) as they take a look at what many consider to be one of the worst films in recent memory, Amazon's WAR OF THE WORLDS!

  33. 144

    EP 148 - KPOP DEMON HUNTERS (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"THIS IS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE!" Time and again in recent years, Sony Animation has proven to be the bright spot at Sony Pictures. Ever since Into the Spider-Verse, they've taken bold risks and received great reward in turn, and this film has been no exception. Ever since its release nearly two months ago, the story of HUNTR/X has had a chokehold on people, quickly becoming one of Netflix's most-watched films of all time. So, what do we think of it? Tune in to find out as Darby (@gwenstacying) and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) lead Brian and Alec through their first viewing of this year's most popular animated film -- KPOP DEMON HUNTERS!

  34. 143

    EP 147 - BLUE BEETLE (2023) (ft. @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"THAT'S WHAT MAKES ME STRONG." After James Gunn took control of DC and after The Flash basically killed it it for everyone, a few stragglers trailed behind that were in between cinematic universes. One of these was a silver screen adaptation of Blue Beetle, and many didn't know what to think of it when going in. While the film has had its fiar share of detractors, it has proven to be one of the very few bright spots of the previous era, with pushes being made to include it in the DCU going forward. So, how does it hold up? Come join Brian, Alec, and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) to find out as they take a look at the elusive actually good DC film, Angel Manuel Soto's BLUE BEETLE!

  35. 142

    EP 146 - SINNERS (2025)

DANCE WITH THE DEVIL. Ryan Coogler has been one of the hottest names in the directing world for the past decade, and for the first time since his freshman outing, he has released a wholly original film. Sinners has been hailed as an instant-classic since its release in April, and it's time for us to dive in. So, come join Alec and Brian as they take a look at what many consider to be the best film of 2025 thus far, Ryan Coogler's SINNERS!

  36. 141

    EP 145 - FANT4STIC (2015) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"SAY THAT AGAIN..." After Rise of the Silver Surfer failed to captivate audiences, future plans with the 00's iteration of Marvel's First Family fizzled out. Thus, Josh Trank was brought on board to reboot the franchise with a more modern and serious edge. What resulted was what many consider to be one of the worst comic book films of all time. Oh, boy. Before you see First Steps this weekend, come join Brian, Alec, Darby (@gwenstacying), and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) as they take a look at the travesty that is Josh Trank's FANT4STIC!

  37. 140

EP 144 - FANTASTIC FOUR (2005) & FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER (2007) (ft. @HeyGuysItSpidey)

"I'M GONNA NEED THERAPY." Kevin Feige's full attempt at making the first good movie about Marvel's First Family releases in one week, so it's time to look back at prior attempts. The 00's were not kind to most comic book characters when it came to movies, and the F4 were no exception. While many remain nostalgic for these films, even going as far as saying nothing can top their cast, they boast a whole lot of issues that were the style at the time, and it's time to dig into each and every one. So, come join Brian, Alec, and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) as they take a look at the goofy, derivative, and bizarrely misogynistic (to the point of Jessica Alba nearly quitting acting) FANTASTIC FOUR and FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER!

  38. 139

    EP 143 - SUPERMAN RETURNS (2006)

THIS MOVIE IS OUR KRYPTONITE. For many years after Superman IV, WB had struggled to get a new take on the Man of Steel off the ground. From Tim Burton's Superman Lives to J.J. Abrams' Superman: Flyby, nothing seemed to stick. It was only at the tail-end of the latter's existence that they decided to make a "direct" sequel to Superman II, with everyone recast and still taking place in modern day. What resulted was a movie that felt like it was written with melatonin for ink. Somebody save us. Come join Brian and Alec as they wrap up the Supermanathon with the movie that very may well have caused the public to be bored with the big blue boy scout -- SUPERMAN RETURNS!

  39. 138

EP 142 - SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE (1987)

AKA CAVEMAN SUPERMAN: ORIGINS. After the ludicrously underwhelming Superman III, Christopher Reeve swore off the tights forever. However, a script for a fourth installment, one that would touch on topics he was passionate about, convinced him to give it another shot. What resulted was one of the most poorly-made and maligned comic book movies of all time. But we'd like to ask -- is it truly that bad? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they reach the end of the Christopher Reeve era with SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE!

  40. 137

    EP 141 - SUPERMAN III (1983)

THE BEGINNING OF BAD COMIC BOOK MOVIES! The troubled production of Superman II would only herald a beginning of wrong choices made with the character. Despite the success of the first two and what made them work, this film decided to shift gears and focus on the aspects not many people cared for. You know what they (Brian) say about bad DC movies. If you don't, come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue the Supermanathon with the first sign that comic book movies could suck -- SUPERMAN III!

  41. 136

    EP 140 - SUPERMAN II: THE RICHARD DONNER CUT (1980 / 2006)

THE MOVIE SPIDER-MAN 2 OWED EVERYTHING TO! Superman: The Movie was generational. So much so that Donner and the Salkinds saw it preemptively and had a sequel made in tandem with the first! Unfortunately, despite the promise of a release the year after, the highly-anticipated sequel was delayed to 1980 in light of Donner being fired and a lot of the movie being reshot. After many years and public demand, his cut wouldn't release until 2006, making do with camera tests and newly-shot footage to fill out the blank spots. So, how did it fare? Tune in to find out as Brian and Alec continue the Supermanathon with Richard Donner's (close-to) original cut of SUPERMAN II!

  42. 135

    EP 138 - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 (2024)

LIVE AND LEARN! After the massive success of Sonic 2 -- and with the promise of Shadow in the next one -- fans were eagerly awaiting to see what Fowler and co. would cook up next. The answer was a banger. Yeah, that's it. What, you want another long rambling backstory on the film? Shut up and join Brian and Alec as they revisit what might be the best Sonic film yet -- SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3!

    EP 137 - A MINECRAFT MOVIE (2025) (ft. @gwenstacying & @HeyGuysItSpidey)

LET'S. GET. BRICKED. For the past fifteen years, Minecraft has risen to being and has remained as one of the most popular games in the world. As Hollywood does, a film adaptation was soon commissioned, and was passed around between different directors before finally landing at the feet of Jared Hess -- director of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. You'd think this would allow him to flex his comedic prowess. You'd think this would ensure the movie being decent. You would be wrong. So, come join Brian, Alec, and special guests Darby (@gwenstacying) and Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) as they take a look at the first movie requiring brainrot to be enjoyed -- A MINECRAFT MOVIE!

    EP 136 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING (2023)

THE END OF THE IMPOSSIBLE! As we gear up for the (supposed) end of this saga, thus do we reach the end of our marathon. After Fallout, Cruise and McQuarrie sought to top the double whammy they previously released with an all-new one -- a two-parter to close out the nearly-thirty-year franchise. However, a worldwide pandemic, numerous delays, a whole lot of money over the initial budget, and a bad release window kept things from rocketing off immediately. Nearly two years later, how does the beginning of the end still fare? Come join Brian and Alec before you see THE FINAL RECKONING to find out as they finish Marathon: Impossible with what used to be called a Part One -- MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING!

    EP 135 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT (2018)

"WHAT'S DONE IS DONE, WHEN WE SAY IT'S DONE." After the success of Rogue Nation proved that the franchise had long enough legs to keep going, Christopher McQuarrie signed on to direct the next film -- a first for the franchise. What resulted was what many consider to be not only the best Mission: Impossible film, but one of the best action films in recent memory overall. Time to lock in. Come join Brian and Alec as they continue Marathon: Impossible with the (as-of-now) peak of the franchise -- MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT!

  47. 130

    EP 134 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION (2015)

"DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEASURES." After the massive success of Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise and the world regained their love for impossible missions, and a sequel was greenlit not long after. However, many were skeptical as it turned out that Brad Bird wouldn't be returning -- and that the director's chair would be taken by Christopher McQuarrie. Nobody could've seen it coming that not only would McQuarrie meet expectations, but launch his own tetralogy as the only director to stick around with the franchise. So, after nearly ten years, how does his first outing hold up? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue Marathon: Impossible with the beginning of the series' second half -- MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION!

    EP 133 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL (2011)

THUS BEGIN THE CRUISE DEATH WISHES! Despite M:I3 feeling like a pretty definitive end, Tom Cruise and co. decided to go ahead with a fourth film over five years later. Going into it, no one expected really much of anything -- especially when sequels after an initial trilogy rarely ever succeeded. What followed was a pop cultural milestone that not only revitalized the franchise, but Cruise's place in it as well. So, how does it hold up? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they continue Marathon: Impossible with the unforgettable MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL!

    EP 132 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III (2006)

NOW THE FRANCHISE BEGINS. The first two films in the Mission: Impossible franchise felt like polar opposites when it came to tone, style, and so on. While many people like to accredit the franchise's flourishing with the fourth entry, it was the third that truly set the stage for the series, not only in terms of the above factors, but in terms of Ethan Hunt as a character. This is arguably the most underrated entry aside from the first, and we're here to tell you why it's worth revisiting. So, come join Brian and Alec as they continue Marathon: Impossible with J.J. Abrams' directorial debut -- MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III!

    EP 131 - MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE II (2000)

SPY KIDS IF IT WAS BAD. After the first film reveled in its high-tension spy-thriller identity, one would assume Tom Cruise's next impossible mission would delve further into that. Instead, he created the most Divorced Dad movie to ever exist. Oh boy. Come join Brian and Alec as they continue Marathon: Impossible with the surprisingly bad and even more surprisingly boring MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE II!
