Ep. 2 - “What If…?” | Asking The Questions We Were Taught Not To Ask

In this episode, we explore the concept of questioning our Christian beliefs. Many of us have been taught (directly or indirectly) in the Christian Church that it is not okay to question. “Questioning may breed doubt and unbelief!” *gasp* Questioning within the four walls of the Modern Christian Church may just be the slippery slope to lukewarm Christianity at least, and at worst, the gateway drug to full-blown atheism. It’s okay to ask questions. It’s healthy to wonder. Questioning can inspire a thought that may eventually lead to a profound personal belief that cannot be shaken. When we question for ourselves instead of just parroting the typical Christian rhetoric, we deepen our relationship with God (The Divine, Source, Spirit). Jesus often responded to a question with another question because He is a good teacher. Good teachers encourage questioning, in fact, they may even egg us on. This kind of teacher helps guide their students to think for themselves, so the student’s belief becomes their own. This is the mark of a true spiritual student as well.
