Ep. 23 - Colorectal Cancer

On today's episode we are going to talk about colorectal cancer. About 1 in 10 patients with a new colon cancer diagnosis and 1 in 4 patients with a new rectal cancer diagnosis, are now younger than the age of 50. Because it's more common now in the younger population, and the screening has recently changed to start at age 45. For people under the age of 50, colorectal cancer deaths have surpassed lung cancer deaths, making it the leading cause of cancer deaths in men and second (after breast cancer) in women.  It is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in people of all ages in the United States.
