EP 28 | Blkchrist from Brokeland

Blkchrist from NYC Hip-Hop Collective Brokeland is a rapper, songwriter, and music producer from Brooklyn, New York. Born in Houston and relocating to NYC at two months old Blkchrist and I talked about Brokeland's inaugural east-coast tour. The group got to perform at numerous colleges such as Temple University and Sarah Lawrence College. We talked about when Brokeland first started and how Blkchrist formed it with friends he met attending LaGuardia High School in the late 2010's. Blkcrhrist then dived into executive producing "Brokeland Vol. 1" and what it was like recording and being the executive producer on the project. He revealed that Quincy Jones, Pharrell Williams, and Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, and Kanye West are huge influences to him. As the episode progressed we talked about "Jump" a fan made video documentary about the group and we discussed what he hopes to accomplish throughout his musical career.  "Have Tools To Make What I Want To Make...It's Deeper Than The Music" is what Blkchrist hopes to accomplish with his career moving forward and with Brokeland.
