Identity – The Learner (Part 1)

Identity – the fact of being who you or what a person is

Identity is a shorthand way of knowing who you are.

Identities normally drive you in some sort of way towards something

We just kind of default into what ever identity make sense in that chapter of our lives

Our identities are tied to our emotions and can hurt us

We normally have different identities in various stages of our lives

We default to what is most prevalent in our life at that time.

The identities we pick for ourselves can be either positive or negative and we are not even conscious of it

Examples of Identities:

All identities have flaws to them. The identity can make you or break you. It can cause issues or problems. It can mentally break you down.

If you take on the identity of the Learner, then when you fail, then you just learned something, and it is not devastating to you. One of the best ways to learn is through failure.

If you adopt the identity of Learner, you can grow and move forward with out all of the hang-up of other identities.

The identity of learner is as close to perfection that anyone can get, but it is not perfect because we are not perfect.

The anti-fragile identity is that the more it is attacked the better you become is the LEARNER

The learner identy also has a flaw and we will talk about it in the next episode.
