UNHEALTHY

  • rebuking / arguing with them — the Bible says, “DO NOT REBUKE MOCKERS or they will HATE YOU.” (Prov 9:8)


HEALTHY

  • Patience
  • Checking your own heart / look in the mirror / are you being the difficult person
  • Forgiveness
  • Detach... See the bigger picture


What if your spouse is the difficult person in your life?  What can you do?

  1. Prayer

  3. Harsh words vs. Gentle Words [Proverbs 15:1 (CSB) A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up wrath.]
  4. Check yourself...make sure you are not the difficult person.
