Ep. 46, Stop living in a constant state of reactivity

from The Freely YOU Podcast · host Sarah Heredia

There is a big difference between reacting and responding to the triggers in our lives.  A reaction is our initial response that comes without much thought. For many of us, this can look like us losing our tempers, or maybe it's avoiding the situation in its in entirety, or shutting down emotionally.  A response is a reaction that is rooted in mindfulness. It is a conscious choice to address the situation in a way that makes us proud.  If we are contanstly reacting rather than responding, we can begin to feel like things in our life our out of our control. And many times they are, because we are just letting our conditioning react to one event after another rather than choosing a well thought out response. This is when life feels like it is happening to you, not for you.  This conversation is meant to encourage you to look at the areas of your life that you are in a state of reactivity and have the awareness to choose something different by asking yourself one simple question. This has been a game changer for me and I think it will be for you as well.
