Ep. 52 - The Best/Worst Nightmares of 2021 w/ @christian_nightmares

from Growing Up Christian · host Casey Greseth

The consummate king of Christian cringe is back, and he's curated a list of his favorite nightmare clips of 2021! Almost all of our guests have mentioned that their favorite Instagram/Twitter account is Christian Nightmares, and for good reason. He continually shines a light on the funniest, scariest, and most shocking actions, proclamations, and admissions from a colorful cast of religious leaders. Whether they're pastoring a megachurch, holding public office, or simply berating bikini-clad teens at the beach, Christian Nightmares documents the insanity that is the American church. On top of that, he has a fun music project called "The Christian Nightmares Tribulation Band," which you can find on bandcamp and youtube!    Below you'll find a list of links CN was nice enough to put together so that you, the listener, can watch the videos we discuss play and discuss in throughout the episode:   1) The January 6th Capitol siege in general and the prayer in the House chambers specifically:   "Jesus Christ, we invoke your name!" During the Capitol siege on January 6th, the QAnon Shaman and other Christian terrorists prayed inside the House chambers. https://twitter.com/ChristnNitemare/status/1350887413548244997   2) Mike Lindell: So many videos about this guy from his election fraud claims and beyond... Then he angrily yelled, "God made man and woman male and female!" and said, "I'm not a bigot, I'm telling you the truth." https://www.instagram.com/p/COQcRF9ji7B/   4) Sean Feucht super-spreader event, etc.   Trump’s pal Sean Feucht talks about “the only mandate that matters” https://twitter.com/ChristnNitemare/status/1447645925254606855   5) Asshole pastor Greg Locke:   During a sermon yesterday, pastor Greg Locke told his congregation, “Don’t believe this Delta variant nonsense!” and said if anyone shows up to his church wearing a mask, he’ll ask them to leave. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRyu3gDDk8P/   6) Sexist pastor Stewart-Allen Clark   Sexist pastor Stewart-Allen Clark makes offensive "jokes," says married women no longer have all the rights over their bodies and suggests that men have the right to have sex with their wives even when their wives aren't in the mood... https://www.instagram.com/p/CL5JpsUlycu/   Sexist and homophobic pastor says not "every woman can be the epic trophy wife of all time like Melania Trump" but "you don't need to look like a butch either!" https://www.instagram.com/p/CL5Br-_lvaQ/   7) “Apostle” Kathryn Krick...   “Apostle” Kathryn Krick “casts out demons” in the name of Jesus…  https://www.instagram.com/p/CP-8t8eDGwp/   8) Pastor Robert Jeffress...   During a recent appearance on The Jim Bakker Show, megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress says Christians are going to
