Ep 530- Actress, Singer, Storyteller Satori Shakoor Is Here!

from The Roundtable with Robert Bannon · host Broadway Podcast Network

Satori Shakoor, a dynamic, multi-disciplinary artist and cultural force whose latest work, “Confessions of a Menopausal Femme Fatale,” is a bold, hilarious, and deeply honest stand-up storytelling concert film tackling menopause, aging, and womanhood. The film was recorded at Detroit Public Theatre and is being released June 12 on Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, and GooglePlay. Satori is the host of “Detroit Performs Live” on Detroit PBS and the founder and Executive Producer of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers®, an internationally recognized storytelling platform she launched in 2012. From her roots as a background singer (Bride of Funkenstein) with George Clinton’s Parliament/Funkadelic to being a 2017 Kresge Literary Arts Fellow and emceeing the 2024 Kresge Foundation Centennial event where she introduced keynote speaker President Barack Obama, Satori’s journey is as rich and layered as the stories she tells. Now, Satori is breaking new ground with her bold and comedic one-woman show, “Confessions of a Menopausal Femme Fatale,” where she confronts the realities of aging, womanhood, and life as a Black woman—transforming silence and stigma into empowerment and laughter. __________________________________________________________________ Check out "The Roundtable with Robert Bannon" here on BPN on the daily, on YouTube, Broadway World, and on social media!
