It's time for a new book: we're reading From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout this month! Starting with chapters 1-9 this week and we meet our main character Poppy or as the kingdom calls her, "The Maiden", and she's been chosen by the Gods to be in service to them all her life and is just waiting to be given to them during her ascension when she turns 19. However, her life isn't easy or glamourous. There are countless rules to follow and things she isn't allowed to do - which doesn't sit right with Poppy. So she rebels in whatever small way she can - by using her empath powers to ease the suffering of cursed mortals and by going to the Red Pearl - a scandalous nightclub where all manner of sin happens.
