Ep 228 - Why do we read?? - BoFD 3/5
It's week 3 with The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker, and this week we're reading chapters 40-59. This week, we have so many questions and so few answers. We finally catch up with Veya, and it's not looking good for her. We also form an unhealthy attachment to the Scavenger King of all people, and we question WHAT DOES SLATRA KNOW? Whatever it is, we need her to tell us immediately, please and thanks.

Ep 227 - I don't know how magic works - BoFD 2/5
It's week 2 with The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker and this week we're reading chapters 22-39! This week, our power couple is reunited, and it feels so good! Raeve embraces more of her abilities in order to save Kaan and is rewarded by having her memories start to trickle back from her previous life. They hide out in a mountain town where Liri the dragon shows up and attacks Raeve - she has to work hard to regain her trust, and loses a part of herself instead - we have a ton of theories about what the future books will hold and are probably wrong for most of it!
-

Ep 226 - It's not the bracelet! - The Ballad of Falling Dragons 1/5
It's week 1 with The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker, the 2nd book in the Moonfall series, and this week we're reading chapters 1-21. This week, we are reminded about a bunch of minor characters that we forgot about from book 1, and over-analyze every little thing just in case it's important later (we still don't know). We meet up with Raeve and Kaan, and we stress over Veya, and we finally get a flashback and confirmation on who the Other has been all along!
-

Ep 225 - No body, no crime! - Fallen Gods 4/4
It's our last week with Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken adn this week we're reading chapters 63 to the end! This last week, we follow Rey and Aric and their very confusing enemies-to-lovers relationship, as well as discover the identities of some of our key players (we were shocked!) We are also left hanging on a bunch of things that make us question our reading comprehension...
-
226
Ep 224 - Was the Kiss Bad? - Fallen Gods 3/4
It's our third week reading Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken, and we're reading chapters 39-62! This week, we question what everybody is doing and why, because none of it makes sense. Reeve is good but also bad....Rey and Aric want to stay away from each other and also get close. They plan on betraying each other, but also think they mean the world to each other. It's just a lot of confusion!
-
225
Ep 223 - An issYOU not an IssME! - Fallen Gods 2/4
It's week 2 with the novel Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken and this week we're reading chapters 16-38. This week, ,we don't get any answers to any questions. We learn that Kristen can't say irrevocably and that Rey doesn't have a clue. We also get super confused by Reeve's hatred to Rey but his obsession with being her bestie! There's also a timeline error that we find and absolutely cannot stop discussing it!
-
224
Ep 222 - A Very Successful Sneak - Fallen Gods 1/4
It's our first week with Fallen Gods by Rachel Van Dyken, and we're reading chapters 1-15. This week we meet our mains, Rey, Aric and Reeve? Maybe? We can't tell if this is gonna be some kind of polyamoury situation or not....but anyways, Rey is the daughter of Odin...the Norse god...and Aric is a frost giant, only he doesn't remember his past, and neither do any of the other gods and giants because Odin put them all to sleep to stop a war. However, now he needs to wake them up, and he forces Rey to figure out where Moljnir is hidden so he can. But the only person who knows where Moljnir is doesn't remember where he hid it....and he's not gonna tell Rey, the one person he used to be engaged to....or will he?

Ep 221 - That's Book! - Shield of Sparrows 5/5
It's our last week with Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry, and even though we're late, we're reading chapters 50 to the end. This week, we finally get the couple goals with Ransom and Odessa that we've been waiting for all book! But if you were looking for answers? You'll have to wait and read Rites of the Starling because you won't find any answers at the end of this book! It is action-packed, though, and we finally see the devastation a single crux can do....and it's a lot! Also, Banner returns, and we hate him!
-
222
Ep 220 - Bees Knees Awesomesauce! - Shield of Sparrows 4/5
It’s week 4 with Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry, and this week we’re reading chapters 37 to 50! This week, we finally meet the King of Turah, and we do not like him! But we finally get what we’ve been hoping for this entire book. The revelation by Ransom about who he really is! Too bad it comes because Jocelyn is the worst, but we look past it! Also…..NOBODY APOLOGIZES TO ODESSA, AND IT MAKES US ANGRY!! She has to reconcile what she thought to be true and what is true, and it takes her longer than we would like….but we’re hoping she gets there!
-
221
Ep 219 - You have a husband! - Shield of Sparrows 3/5
It's week 3 reading Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry, and we're reading chapters 24-36. This week, Odessa makes a series of terrible decisions which lead her to be in danger almost constantly. She sneaks out of the tree house town and walks into a monster invasion. She is saved by none other than the Guardian! He puts her in a fortress to protect her, and they become closer, and we are constantly yelling at both of them because she needs to remember that she has a husband and he needs to tell her that it's him (according to our theory!)
-

Ep 218 - Can I have a dalliance - Shield of Sparrows 2/5
It’s week 2 with Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry! This week, we keep on keeping on because Odessa has to keep on keeping on. She finally gets on shore, but her hardships don’t stop when she finds herself smack dab in the middle of an RPG. It’s almost as if she’s Zelda! She crosses the plain of Turah and faces down monsters, all the while not facing her husband and instead eyeing the handsome Guardian. She finally makes her way to a tree-top village and has to learn how to survive in this brutal new landscape!
-

Ep 217 - Nobody tells her anything - Shield of Sparrows 1/4
It's week one with our new book, Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry and this week we're reading chapters 1-12. So we are obsessed with this book and had a great time exploring the first 12 chapters! We meet our main characters, Odessa and the Guardian and the world they live in is plagued by monsters! To survive, the Kingdoms signed a treaty that required a Princess to marry a neighbouring kingdom's Prince to create connections. That was NOT supposed to be Odessa, but her fate changed, and she became THE SPARROW.

Ep 216 - Does Harald Smell?? - ACCiB 4/4
It's our last week with A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L Jensen, and this week we're reading chapters 40 to the end! This week, we see Freya try to save Bjorn by turning Harald's allies against him - the only problem is, they all still like Harald, so her plan was terrible. Bjorn didn't really have a plan, though, so I guess the fact that she kind of had one was better than nothing. She and Bjorn finally have their moment, and we get all the answers that we needed.
-
217
Ep 215 - Not that kind of come! - ACCiB 3/4
It’s week 3 of A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L Jensen, and this week we’re reading chapters 28-39. This week, we roll our eyes almost consistently as some truths are revealed. We learn Harald’s real plans, and we eyeroll at how easily manipulated our main characters are AND how easily they seem to get over things. Freya and Bjorn end up reconciling, stranded on an island, but it doesn’t last long…and then all of the other deaths that happened don’t matter as long as they stay safe. It's eyeroll central!
-
216
Ep 214 - P's, T's and S's - ACCiB 2/4
It's week 2 with A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L Jensen, and we're reading chapters 13-27. This week, we get annoyed with both Bjorn and Freya because they are both ridiculous. Freya is still mad at Bjorn (valid), but Bjorn wants to run away with Freya, which would be out of character for her (which is what she needs in order to change her fate), but she insists on being manipulated. She also gets kidnapped, and Bjorn throws his axe into the guy's face.....so that was fun.
-
215
Ep 213 - Pillage a Village - A Curse Carved in Bone 1/4
It's our first week reading A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L Jensen and this week we're reading chapters 1-12. This week, we recap what happened with A Fate Inked in Blood poorly since we struggle to remember what happens....Freya still holds a grudge against Bjorn for not being honest with her, but he's still obsessed with her and refuses to give up. Also, all of Harald's people either want to be Freya's friend or kill her to protect themselves so...no middle ground. Plus...they villanize orcas which we are not here for! I also read an excerpt from my daughter's book in the intro!
-

It's our last week with The Book of Azrael by Amber V Nicole and this week we're reading chapters 38-51! This week, we learn most of what's going on! We kind of know who Kaden is, we definitely know who Tobias is, we know if there's a book and we know that Azrael's daughter has it! However, we don't know a lot and we find it frustrating...especially with this super slow burn. And the ending is annoying....but the book is good!
-
213

It's week 3 with The Book of Azrael by Amber V Nicole and this week we're reading chapters 27-38. This week sees our main characters go through a bumpy patch. They both know they want each other, but they are staying away from each other to protect the other. Plus, we meet a certain vampire who makes a certain God jealous and rethinks his situationship with a certain Ig'Morruthun. ITS NOT GOOD NEWS!!! And finally when they're about to KISS, the chapter ends and we are unsatisfied....too many characters to care about!
-

It's our second week with The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole and this week we're reading chapters 13-26. They go on an adventure and Dianna is threatened and we see just how far Liam is willing to go to protect her....so he can call her an idiot later on. Plus, Dianna finally starts to see how broken Liam is....and tries to help him heal!

It's week one with the Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole and this week we're reading chapters 1-12. We dive into the world with all the weird names and struggle through them painfully.....and Catherine confronts Kristen's fashion choices.....it's a fun week!
-

Ep 208 - Born to be a Cool Guy - Mate 4/4
It's our last week with Mate by Ali Hazelwood, and this week we're reading chapters 31 to the end! This week there's a TON of scandelous spicy moments....essentially half of the chapters this week are just constant sauce. Serena goes into her heat and Koen has to decide whether or not to help her through it. We also have to solve the issue of the vampires trying to assassinate her (solved in one sentence) and the issue of Irene the cult leader (solved in maybe 6-8 pages). With all that solved...we learn what will become of Koen and his place as Alpha (also solved relatively quickly....but how??)

It's week 2 with Mate by Ali Hazelwood and this week we're reading chapters 11-20! This week, Serena gets uncomfortably close living with Koen. But her plan works and lots of vampyres come and try to kill her (we don't see that though!) Instead we get a lot of deep breaths and comforting smells....we also get a lot of naked weres and a lot of mean people who want Serena to go away and leave poor Koen alone, because as it turns out, he's required to be celibate be Alpha! Who knew!? Oh wait....we did.....from Bride.....
-
207
Ep 205 - Man Vampyre Guy - Mate 1/4
It's our first week with Mate by Ali Hazelwood, and this week we're reading chapters 1-10. This week we are reacquainted with all of the characters from Bride, including Serena, a headstrong half werewolf - half human, and her mate Koen....only thing is, Koen doesn't want to be mates, and Serena doesn't really know what mates are supposed to be, so she just has to go by what Koen tells her......huge mistake! Oh yeah....and Serena has this huge secret about why she's been unable to shift, that Koen REALLY wants to find out about.

Meanwhile, Louisa and Lir continue to have all the red flags, and Louisa just continues making terrible decisions like dancing in her underwear around a stranger's house! Yet for some reason, Auren loves him and wants to please him - but this week, Midas goes too far, and promises a night with Auren to a neighboring King to have access to his army. We also talk about a lot of stuff....

Ep 180 - I too read the book! - Phantasma 2/5
It's week 2 with Phantasma by Kaylie Smith, and we're reading chapters 13-22. This week, Ophelia gets closer to Blackwell in more ways than one. She goes through two levels of Phantasma and has a super embarrassing moment during one of them.
