Ep. 59 - Keep the Fire Burning

from Becoming and Purpose · host Jaycee M. | Becoming and Purpose

What does it really mean to be on fire for Jesus, and how do we keep that flame from slowly burning out? In Episode 59, I’m talking about staying spiritually fueled through Scripture, prayer, worship, fellowship, and simply continuing to stay close to God. Faith is not always going to feel exciting or emotionally intense, and being on fire for Jesus does not mean living on a constant spiritual high. Sometimes it looks like choosing to stay connected to Him even when life is busy, discouraging, or exhausting. I also talk about something that has been on my heart lately: giving your life to God does not guarantee an easy life, but it can lead to a deeply good one. A life with purpose, hope, peace, community, and somewhere to turn when things get hard. We’ll look at Romans 12, John 15, 2 Timothy 1, and John 10 as we talk about staying connected to the source, fanning the flame, and recognizing when distraction has started replacing devotion. If your faith feels strong right now, protect it and keep feeding it. And if the flame feels a little low, maybe you don’t need to start over. Maybe you just need to tend the fire again.
