Dean's Chat host, Dr. Jeffrey Jensen is joined by Rob Klein, DPM, FACFAS, CWS for a discussion on leadership in podiatric medicine, overseeing multiple wound care centers, consulting in the wound care space, and giving back to the profession. Dr. Klein did his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Florida Atlantic University. He attended the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Michigan Health Center in Detroit. He has also received a "Strategic Healthcare Leadership" certificate from Cornell University. Dr. Klein is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS).  Dr. Klein is currently the Medical Director for the Vascular Health Alliance Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Oxygen Center in Greenville, SC. He is the Division Chair – Wound Care for Prisma Health overseeing seven wound care centers. Dr. Klein and Dr. Jensen have worked together extensively training wound care providers (DPM, MD, DO, PT, PA, NP) in appropriate offloading techniques. Dr. Klein shares a personal anecdote about shadowing a podiatrist and how it completely opened his eyes to the field of podiatry. He explains that despite considering other medical schools, shadowing a podiatrist made him realize that it was the perfect fit for their career aspirations. Dr. Klein also emphasizes the equal importance of mentorship alongside shadowing. He encourages listeners to become mentors and share their knowledge and experiences with students.
