Ep. 74: Surviving The 'Rona

from The Unapologetic Executive

What a week! Coronapocalypse has taken over and many of us are wondering whether we are living in a movie. I personally feel like I am living in a real life episode of the hunger games.  So this week I was placed on an unpaid leave for the next two to three months due to the coronavirus or what I like to call the 'Rona. This hit me hard as I have a growing child. I would have never in a million years thought that this would happen to me because I have always played it safe when it came to work. The one time I take a risk and take a job in a non governmental realm, i'm out on the unemployment line.  To say it hurts is an understatement. But, this is not the time to sit and feel sorry for myself (although you should take at least a day), there are action items that need tending to. On this episode I talk about how it feels to be unemployed as a professional woman of color, what you need to do to offset some of the financial burden, and how to stay positive in the midst of hardship and despair.  *FREEda's World is available everywhere you enjoy your podcasts.
